Американская федерация труда - Конгресс производственных профсоюзов (АФТ-КПП)
Крупнейшее профсоюзное объединение США, само по себе не являющееся профсоюзом и не участвующее в переговорах [collective bargaining]. Представляет общеполитические интересы профсоюзов и координирует их совместную деятельность, играет важнейшую роль в формировании профсоюзной политики в целом. В последнее время поддерживает на выборах демократов. Создано в 1955 путем слияния ранее существовавших независимо друг от друга крупных профсоюзных объединений АФТ [AFL] и КПП [CIO]. Первым президентом (1955-79) стал президент АФТ Дж. Мини [Meany, George]. Объединение охватывает большую часть организованного рабочего класса США - около 15 млн. членов. Центральный орган - Исполнительный совет [executive council], куда входят президент объединения, секретарь-казначей [secretary-treasurer] и 27 вице-президентов. До 1969 входила в Международную конфедерацию свободных профсоюзов. Печатные органы - еженедельник "Новости АФТ-КПП" [AFL-CIO News, The], журнал "Эй-эфл-Си-ай-о Американ федерэйшионист" [AFL-CIO American Federationist, The]. Штаб-квартира в г. Вашингтоне
